Nigeria’s Under-18 women basketball team defeated their Liberian counterparts 90-9 in the FIBA U-18 AfroBasket Qualifiers-Zone 3 Tournament in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
The FIBA U18 AfroBasket is a biennial international youth basketball competition consisting of under-18 national teams organised by FIBA Africa.
The Nigerian team’s next game may not be that easy as it would be against the Ivorian team, which finished runners-up twice at the U-18 tournament.
With seven U18 titles under their belt, Nigeria will be attempting to reach their 12th Final Round for an eighth title.
Nigeria, Liberia, and the hosts are competing for the sole ticket to the 2024 FIBA U-18 Women’s AfroBasket billed to hold in Johannesburg, South Africa, later this month of August.
