LiNES’ Lamé Verre, Oando’s Ayotola Jagun Join Tony Attah, Dapo Filani for AISF 2026

Two prominent sustainability thought leaders, Lamé Verre, Co-founder of Lean In Equity & Sustainability (LiNES), and Ayotola Jagun, Executive Director, Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer at Oando Plc, will join leading oil and gas executives at the Africa Interviews Sustainability Forum (AISF 2026), scheduled for Wednesday, October 21, in Lagos.

Both executives bring extensive experience and expertise in sustainability, energy transition and responsible business practices, adding an important dimension to discussions on Africa’s energy future.

They will participate alongside Tony Attah, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited, and Dapo Filani, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Waltersmith, in a panel discussion examining Africa’s energy security, the role of natural gas in the continent’s energy transition, and the investment and policy priorities needed to support sustainable economic growth.

The forum, which will take place at Capital Club, Lagos, is the third edition of the annual gathering launched in 2024.

With the theme, “Energy Security and Africa’s Energy Transition: Defining the Role of Gas,” this year’s forum will examine how African countries can strengthen energy security, attract investment into gas development and balance growing energy demand with sustainability objectives.

Verre, a London-based energy and sustainability thought leader , is Co-founder and Chair of the Advisory Board of Lean In Equity & Sustainability (LiNES). She will travel to Lagos for the forum, bringing her international experience in sustainability, decarbonisation and low-carbon development to the discussion.

An award-winning energy executive, her work spans low-carbon initiatives across sectors including marine, the built environment, forestry, land and agriculture.

Jagun, who serves as Executive Director, Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer at Oando Plc, brings extensive experience in corporate governance, regulatory compliance, enterprise risk management and sustainability.

Her participation will contribute a corporate sustainability and governance perspective to discussions on the relationship between energy development, environmental responsibility and Africa’s transition priorities.

Their perspectives will complement the industry experience of Attah and Filani, whose participation will focus attention on gas development, infrastructure, investment and the practical challenges facing Africa’s energy sector.

Attah, a former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria LNG Limited, has extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, particularly in natural gas development and major energy operations.

Filani leads Waltersmith, an indigenous Nigerian energy company with interests across the oil and gas value chain. His participation will provide an opportunity to examine the role of indigenous energy companies in strengthening domestic energy capacity and supporting economic development.

The panel will consider what is required to unlock greater investment in Africa’s gas sector, how natural gas can support industrial growth while advancing sustainability, and what practical measures could help translate the continent’s energy ambitions into tangible outcomes.

Beyond the panel discussion, AISF 2026 will provide opportunities for engagement among senior energy executives, policymakers, investors and business leaders.

The programme is scheduled to run from 9:00 a.m. to noon, with arrival and networking beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Launched in 2024, the Africa Interviews Sustainability Forum is now in its third edition.
