#CAFAwards24: Full List of Nominees for Player of the Year, Others

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Thursday unveiled the list of nominees for the 2024 men’s categories for the #CAFAwards24, which will be hosted in Marrakech, Morocco for a second successive year.

The CAF Awards recognize exceptional performances in both club and national competitions, culminating in the prestigious titles of CAF African Player of the Year in both men’s and women’s categories.

Nigerian duo Ademola Lookman and William Troost-Ekong are among the 10-man list for the 2024 CAF African Men’s Player of the Year category, as well as Morocco’s and Paris Saint Germain’s Achraf Hakimi, South African and MamelodiSundowns’ Ronwen Williams, among others.

There are 10 nominees each for the Coach of the Year, CAF National Team of the Year, and Club of the Year, Young Player of the Year (which celebrates talents under the age of 21), and CAF African Goalkeeper of the Year categories.

Hosts and champions of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Cote d’Ivoire and finalist Nigeria are vying for the National Team of the Year award.

Despite leading the Super Eagles to the final, former coach Jose Peseiro is not named among the list of CAF Coach of the Year.
