Africa Interviews Sustainability Forum 2026 to Examine Gas, Energy Security, Africa’s Transition

Energy, finance, investment, policy and sustainability leaders will gather in Lagos on Wednesday, October 21, for the third edition of the Africa Interviews Sustainability Forum (AISF), with the role of gas in Africa’s energy security and industrial development set to take centre stage.

The Forum will be held at Capital Club, Victoria Island, Lagos, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, under the theme, “Energy Security and Africa’s Energy Transition: Defining the Role of Gas.

Confirmed speakers include Oladapo Filani, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Waltersmith Petroman Oil Limited; Tony Attah, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited; and Lamé Verre, Co-Founder and Chair of the Advisory Board of Lean-in Equity & Sustainability.

During a moderated panel discussion, the speakers will draw on their experience across energy and sustainability to examine what it will take to move from Africa’s resource potential to tangible economic and development outcomes.

The discussion will examine a central challenge facing governments, businesses and investors across the continent: how Africa can meet its growing energy needs, drive industrial development and pursue a lower-carbon future.

Gas will be at the centre of the conversation, with the Forum examining he role of gas in Africa’s energy mix, the investment and infrastructure required to develop the continent’s gas resources, and how those resources can be translated into reliable energy, industrial growth and wider economic value.

Co-Founder of Africa Interviews, Sam Umukoro, said the Forum was designed to drive practical conversations grounded in Africa’s development realities.

“Africa’s energy transition must reflect the continent’s development realities. AISF 2026 will bring decision-makers together to examine how gas can strengthen energy security and industrial growth, and what needs to change in policy, finance and execution to translate Africa’s energy potential into measurable outcomes.”

The Forum will bring together participants from government, energy companies, financial institutions, investment organisations, development bodies and the media.

AISF 2026 builds on the inaugural edition held in 2024 and the second edition in 2025. Africa Interviews established the Forum to bring together leaders and stakeholders to explore practical responses to some of the continent’s sustainability and development challenges.
