The second edition of the Africa Interviews Sustainability Forum themed “Beyond Compliance: Making ESG Work for African Realities,” held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the prestigious Capital Club, Victoria Island, Lagos. The well-attended event, in partnership with Waltersmith Petroman Oil Limited, featured keynote speeches, panel discussions, and networking sessions with thought leaders across government, business, and civil society.

Global Energy Transition Leader and Co-founder of Lean-in Equity & Sustainability, Lamé Verre, delivered the keynote address. The Lagos State Commissioner for Innovation, Science & Technology, Hon. Olatunbosun Alake; Director of Governance & Sustainability at Sahara Group, Ejiro Gray; and General Manager at Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA), Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abiola, and Team Leader at the UK Nigeria Infrastructure Advisory Facility, Frank Edozie, were guest panelists.

Speaking about this year’s theme, Founder and Editorial Director of Africa Interviews, Sam Umukoro, noted that the forum is moving ESG beyond tick-box exercises to measurable strategies that drive inclusive growth and sustainable development on the continent.
