The second edition of Africa Interviews Sustainability Forum is scheduled to hold on September 16 at the prestigious Capital Club, Victoria Island, in Lagos, Nigeria.
The forum will convene top business leaders, policymakers, development partners, and sustainability experts to discuss practical strategies for making Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles work for Africa’s unique development challenges.
This year’s forum, themed “Beyond Compliance: Making ESG Work for African Realities,” will continue the conversation that began at the inaugural edition, where senior figures from across sectors shared insights into the pressing issues of energy transition, inclusive growth, and governance in Africa.
At the 2024 forum, panelists explored the complexities of integrating sustainability into business models and policies, particularly in the context of Africa’s socio-economic realities.
“The Africa Interviews Sustainability Forum serves as a critical platform for actionable ESG strategies that directly address Africa’s unique challenges,” Founder and Editorial Director of Africa Interviews, Sam Umukoro, said.
“By focusing on pragmatic solutions, we aim to drive sustainable growth and empower businesses to lead in global ESG conversations, creating long-term value for both business and society,” he added.
Similarly, keynote speaker at the forum, Lamé Verre, Co-Founder of Lean In Equity & Sustainability, noted that, “Having been part of the first edition, Lean In Equity & Sustainability is proud to continue our partnership with the Africa Interviews Sustainability Forum. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are central to building ESG solutions that deliver lasting impact, and this platform ensures African voices and leadership are at the heart of that conversation.”
The 2025 forum will feature a keynote speech, thought-provoking panel discussions, and invaluable networking opportunities, all designed to accelerate the development and implementation of actionable sustainability solutions for Africa.
With invited delegates from government, business, and civil society, the event promises to be one of the most influential gatherings of the year for those committed to shaping Africa’s sustainable future.
